A Universal Adventure

August 20, 2020 By Lorna No Comments

Universal Orlando reopened it’s gates on June 5th, 2020. Our family had to cancel a spring trip due to Covid so we decided to make up for it with a visit to Universal! We had some concerns about traveling and the experience in general, but those quickly faded as we saw the multitude of new protocols that had been put in place. On top of that, the crowds were very low and the wait times very short. Bottom line—we felt safe and had a wonderful visit!

Here are a few of the safety measures Universal has in place….
Temperature checks are required before entering the parks or resorts. They have a great wristband system in place so you only have to have your temp taken ONCE each day!

Green wristbands for the day! We just showed them any time we entered a park or resort. They are also lowering the capacity of the buses—but you can see it wasn’t an issue for us this day!! 🙂Here are our green wristbands for the day. If you are staying at a Universal resort you can have your temp taken before you head to the parks which saves a lot of time at security!

Extended and spaced out queue lines at the entrance to the parks. The have added extended queue lines at the entrance to help with social distancing. Each store has a set capacity. If the store is “full” you wait outside the shop in the extended queue area. It wasn’t an issue on this day, as you can see!

Extended queue lines outside of shops. If stores reach capacity you wait to enter in this area.

Hand sanitizer is given out as you board most rides (a Team Member puts a small squirt in your hand) Each ride vehicle holds only one party. Pretty sweet for single riders and families alike. Masks are required at all times unless you are eating/drinking or in a U REST station. These stations are located throughout the park and give you a place to take your masks off and relax . Tables and chairs are spaced out so you are still distanced from others while using these areas.

U REST stations available in the parks. These are areas where you can remove your masks and relax. Social distancing built into the set of the tables and chairs in these areas.  A virtual queue system is used for some of the most popular rides to help with crowd control.

Lots of fun to be had! It was a wonderful family getaway after months of a stay at home order!

Universal is offering some great deals for travel right now! If you are ready for a little break I would be happy to help you set up a visit!

I had the chance to be one of the first people to I had the chance to be one of the first people to have afternoon tea at the new CAKE BAKE SHOP. 💕

We were offered 6 different teas to begin with and were able to have as many of them as we would like. We were then served a delicious cranberry/orange scone that is available exclusively to tea guests. It was served with clotted cream and homemade raspberry jam. The next course was the tiered tray and it had more food on it than we could possibly eat!! There were four different kinds of sandwiches, and then 7 different desserts! Everything was sprinkled with edible gold glitter ✨Thankfully, we were able to take everything we couldn’t eat with us as in their pink, personalized to go containers!

Was it worth the astronomical $124 price tag?

Yes. Yes it was.🫖💗
